LinkedIn Profile Scraper Template: Incorrect Current Position

Description of the issue:

The scraper template for LinkedIn profiles returns the wrong ā€œCurrent Positionā€ of the person has held multiple positions with the current company. It returns the name of the company due to LinkedIn’s timeline format:

Steps to reproduce this issue:

Using Bardeen’s LinkedIn Profile Template, scrape any profile where the person has held multiple positions with their current company. Example: Kaki Kleisch - Katalyst | LinkedIn

Hi William,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I’ve escalated this to our engineers who will work to correct the scraper template for situations like these. I’ll be in touch when the scraper model is fixed.

Hi william@nutt.io,

Great news ! The problem you encountered previously is now fixed in our latest version of Bardeen - 2.45.

Please try updating your version of Bardeen and let me know if you’re still facing the same issue.

Here’s how you can update your version of Bardeen:

  1. Open the Google Chrome browser.
  2. Navigate to your extensions page by either:
ā—¦ Opening a new tab and typing chrome://extensions into the address bar.
ā—¦ Clicking on the three-dot icon at the top right corner of the browser, selecting ā€œMore tools,ā€ and then ā€œExtensionsā€.
  3. Enable ā€œDeveloper modeā€ by toggling the switch in the top-right corner of the extensions page.
  4. Once Developer mode is enabled, additional options will appear on the page. Look for the Bardeen extension, Click Details and click the ā€œUpdateā€ button.
This will force Chrome to download and install any available updates for Bardeen.

Amazing, thank you. However, the update seems to have come with a new bug: For some automation triggered by right-click, they appear to complete all actions, but they show as endlessly running in Bardeen. If I remove the right-click trigger, the issue goes away. Let me know if you need a recording.

No problem. In this recording you’ll see the automation continue running after all actions complete.

  • Here’s the automation.
  • Removing the right-click trigger resolves the issue.

Thanks so much,

William Nutt
