Incogniton Browser or Problem with Huge Google Sheets Table

Description of the issue:

I ran a Bardeen automation to scrape data from Upwork and insert it into a Google Sheet. I am using the Incogniton browser with an IPV4 proxy (USA IP). The target Google Sheet contains more than 6000 rows and numerous formulas. Occasionally, the scraping and data insertion complete almost instantly (within a few seconds), but most times, the process takes significantly longer (7-10 minutes). The delay happens at multiple stages: opening the extension, starting the playbook, and especially during the insertion of data into the Google Sheet. The scraping step itself is consistently fast; however, inserting rows into Google Sheets is extremely slow and represents the primary bottleneck.

Error message:

No explicit error messages occur, but the slow speed severely impacts productivity.

Steps to reproduce this issue:

  1. Open Incogniton browser with IPV4 proxy (USA IP).
  2. Open the page of Upwork proposal, for example https://www.upwork.com/nx/proposals/1899195493761359873 .
  3. Launch Bardeen extension (version 3.15.0).
  4. Execute the following playbook to scrape data from Upwork and insert it into the Google Sheet: Scraping www.upwork.com ILLIA | Bardeen Community Playbook
  5. Observe the significant delay when inserting data into the Google Sheet.

Bardeen version:

3.15.0

Hi Maksym,

Thanks for reaching out! The slowdown is likely due to Google Sheets handling large datasets and formulas. Here are some steps to improve performance:

  1. Reduce Google Sheets Recalculation
  • Go to File > Settings > Calculation and set recalculation to “On change and every X minutes.”
  1. Test Without Proxy
  • Run the automation in a normal browser without Incogniton or a proxy to check for speed differences.

I’ll also escalate this as a ticket, but please try these steps in the meantime and let us know if the issue persists!

Best,
Victoria
