Email to Notion automation sending same emails multiple times

Description of the issue:

I am running an ā€œEmail to Notion automationā€. It is via a Gmail account. It was working fine until very recently, but lately it has started sending the same emails multiple times. I couldnā€™t find a pattern, it doesnā€™t send all the emails multiple times to Notion, but some of them. Mostly old emails. For example an email that was sent to Notion once on 24th October, is sent again on 28th October multiple times. This messes up all the databases for us.

Error message (if aplicable):

No error message in this case.

Steps to reproduce this issue:

This happens randomly, I donā€™t see specific triggers apparently.

Iā€™ve noticed that your automation isnā€™t currently set up to prevent duplicates, and I recommend adding a check to filter out any repeated entries.

Hereā€™s how to set this up:

  1. Keep the initial trigger as it is (ā€œWhen email is receivedā€).
  2. Add a ā€œFind Notion pagesā€ step and configure it to search using a unique identifier - such as the emailā€™s permalink - so it only finds exact matches.

  1. Add a condition to check whether a page with this unique identifier already exists. For example:

  1. Based on this check, create a new page in Notion only if no matching page is found.

These steps should help prevent duplicates in your Notion database going forward. Let me know if you need any further guidance or have any questions!

Ok perfect thanks. I have implemented this now. Let us see if this works. :slight_smile: I think weā€™ll have to wait a little bit to see if this really stops duplicate emails.

I am having the same issue with Email to WhatsApp for the past few days.

It keeps sending a WhatsApp message although it arrived in email a few days ago but it keeps sending it daily.

how can this be fixed and how can i make sure i am not charged for the credits ?

No, I dont have problem anymore. No longer receiving the duplicate emails. Thanks. :wink:

Its still sending duplicate whatsapp messages daily.
so for example

i am being sent whatsapp messages for old emails.
on Monday for example i am still getting the emails from Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday and they have been sent for some days now.

this has been draining my credits also :slight_smile:
